Scholarship Opportunities
Within the Department of Chemistry, we
have the following scholarships to offer the William E. Reid and
the Robert A. Welch Scholarships
The University has the
following scholarships to offer:
Regents Merit Scholarship Award- Offered to recent
high school graduates who are entering college for the first time. The
award offers $10,000 a year for four years, for a total of $40,000 and a
$250 book stipend per semester provided the student maintains the required
scholarship criteria. Potential candidates for this award must meet the
minimum selection criteria: GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0
scale, SAT score of 1200 or higher or ACT composite score of 25 or
higher.
Presidential Award- Offered to recent high school
graduates who are entering college for the first time. The award offers
$9,200 a year for four years, for a total of $36,800, provided the student
maintains the required scholarship criteria. Potential candidates for this
award must meet the minimum selection criteria: GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0
scale, SAT score of 1100 or higher or ACT composite score of 25 or
higher, class rank in the top 20%.
Distinguished Achievement Award- Offered to recent
high school graduates who are entering college for the first time. The
award offers $6,400 a year for four years, for a total of $25,600,
provided the student maintains the required scholarship criteria.
Potential candidates for this award must meet the
minimum selection criteria: GPA of 3.0 on
a 4.0 scale, SAT score of 1010 or higher or ACT composite score of 21 or
higher, class rank in the top 27%.

Deadline: Application transcript
with test scores and counselor recommendation must be received by
February
1st.
